Ditto! It was great to finally meet a bunch of you guys. The amount of knowledge available was a bit overwhelming at times. It was hard to decide which conversation/demonstration to listen to. And why is it that I always think of great questions to ask on the drive HOME... Big thank you to all to he...

Clamp a piece of barstock/ handle for ratchet/or anything else similar into a vise to use as a solid backing for setting the rivet. Otherwise attach the glove below the enclosed part. Once your thumb is inside it probably won't be able to slip out. Hard to say for sure though without seeing pics. Ch...

Sasuke and William, While I think it's a sound policy, and one that certainly helps to prevent the kinds of problems that people have illustrated in these forums. I do have one question and it's not a question that you need feel obligated to answer here. Are you turning a profit in your business ??...

I have decided to adopt a new policy regarding orders that I think will both protect the customer and eliviate some of the stress in my work. I have a good track record of delivering on time and as requested by the customer. I was late on one order to a very understanding customer when I broke my e...

The suit I made here is almost entirely 20 ga. stainless: m As long as you are shaping the metal and not just forming it into cones or flat shapes it holds up very well as costume and minimal combat armor. Concerning the ThorZ pattern: That is a trick question. What is the proper scale for you is no...

Very nice, but I have to note: in the third pic from behind, it looks to me like those houte gaurds (spelling) are at the wrong angle; I think they should be higher. Anyone else? You are absolutely correct. I did them that way so he would be able to raise his arms without clocking himself in the ea...

I'd like to be there, and/or try to be there. But... I'm definitely about 7 or 8 levels below "apprentice." I don't really have any projects to bring -- unless I made a run down to Sasuke's, and he hasn't decided to do something on his own w/ the greathelm I was working on there last year. I don't ...

The ThorZ pattern is a great first finger gauntlet pattern. I would get rid of the leather articulated wrist though. Just do a riveted articulation type wrist instead. You will obviously have to modify the pattern a bit to accomplish that though. I also agree that you should make both at the same ti...

Welcome to the addiction. First thing is to read all the essays. especially if you have made stuff. They will make tons more sense after a few projects under your belt. Another thing is to ask as specific of questions as you can. that helps us know exactly what information you are looking for withou...

For me it is great creative outlet. I have tried some other art type things and for one reason or another armoring has just really struck a nerve with me. I get frustrated with it but when the project is done I feel good. Of course I then see everything that is wrong with it and want to scrap it and...

Boccia and Coelho's "L'Arte del Armatura in Italia" Wow, that is rare. According to OCLC WorldCat, no library holds that work. AddAll.com shows none for sale in their 36 bookstores. Google has no hits for it. Are you certain this was published as a book? Try this spelling instead: "L'Arte dell'arma...
