You want different stake tips for a plate versus an anvil. You don't want a taper for a hardie hole (they have straight sides). You can break the end of your anvil that way. You have a collar around the base of the stake that keeps it from going further in. For a stake plate (they have tapered holes...

I specifically do not accept any money until the armor is completed. I would rather not owe anyone anything if something were to happen that would reduce or eliminate my ability to complete a project. I also offer a full refund for any reason (fit, size, anything). I do think that people are focusing...

I agree with Pathfinder. Sounds like your groove is too wide. You also need to overlap your "strikes" to eliminate the individual bubble look. If it is REALLY bubbly looking your chisel may be too rounded. If you haven't figured it out before you come over again, remind me and I will show you a few ...

I am not positive. But I believe the numbers refer to the model they are used with. Rather than make a seperate key for each they just combined them.
Just my idea though.

Looks very nice. I am curious if it is based off of a period piece. Most backplates I have seen have the overlap going the other way.
Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

Go with 20 ga. ss. I have never worked with 22 ga. I would imagine it is a pain though considering how fickle 20 ga. can get when trying to shape it. I use the drill then chisel method. After removing all the excess wood you just smash all the lumps and bumps smooth with your largest dishing hammer. This both smooths and hardens/compacts the wood from my experience.

They look good. You may want to try dishing them a bit and articulating the lames so they can attach to your upper arm rather than just stick straight out. Look at the thumb tip on the Gothic Gauntlets that luciusj posted. Use that shape (probably not that long and should be wider) and dish/raise it until your finger is nested in it . This will allow the tip to contact the haft without pinching your finger. How pointy do you want them? You could form t...

They look pretty good. How will you attach them to the glove? For riveting to the leather I suggest two rivets per scale to keep them from twisting. And you may want to make the last scale/finger tip a different shape. One that comes down at the front as well as the sides to protect the tips better....

I use the hammer on the upper right of my stump for the vast majority of my dishing.

I have some smaller modified ball piens that I use for pieces too small for that hammer.
