Duke Alaric is right. Between the SCA not being the only game in town and economy is it any suprise the SCA is on a downswing member wise. Not to mention the population bulge (baby boomers) are becoming retirees. We're becoming a age top heavy population. So less younger people than in the past to ...

I drive... Out of Kingdom for me is about an hour West or 10 minutes North plus time at Customs. Pennsic is the farthest I've gone and the first few were not out of Kingdom. I drove those to, about 10 hours.

My aluminum shield is done up like my wooden one(need to strap that one...). That is faced in 4oz leather and edged with rawhide. Doesn't sound anything like wood, but definitely not aluminum sounding. I have done the bedliner in the helm. Worked real well on the large spun dome that rang like a chu...
