You just don't know when to quit, do you. You just have to be Right! Just like in the Lamellar topic. Your just making yourself look like an egotistial ass.

You might want to rent a backhoe for that hole you are digging.

The material is fine for a shield. It's just rather thin. If for SCA use that is.
For SCA use you want to be looking for 0.090 to 0.128 " thickness.
One of my shields is 0.090 7075 T-6.

Zweihammer Armory has a kit, if you don't mind putting a little work into a helm.

Hey, it's in the Governing Documents. I didn't write them. I'd defer to the BoD to clean up the vauge terminology and contradiction in the Governing Documents.
As far as this topic, it looks like the kingdoms are taking it upon themselves to define and enforce that, at least on the list field.

I don't like to see plastic at all. I think there should be a society wide ruling for standards regarding exposed plastic and other glaring anachronisms. It all falls under that "reasonable attempt at pre-17th centry garb". You also have it backwards. When we do it right, there should be ...

It looks like we in the East will be taking a step up. A local knight sent a email out Friday to the local lists. Looks like there has/is some talk of an apperance law and the chiv decided that they would rather not have a law dictating apperance. That it would be better if they stepped up their app...

Depends on the type of event. By that I mean, day trip or multiday event. I'd go with practice over a one day event. Also, change things up at practice. Alittle melee work, hold the field, put a barrier off to the side for alittle of that action, etc. You can also dress up a practice, have a small l...

Okay, I had though that you had paid at Estella when you ordered the hat being that your quoted time for completion was only a couple of weeks.

Still may be mail fraud if what is in the package is not what you ordered, even if it is a hat.

Good to see you getting somewhere on this. Good Luck.

Not all SCA swords have quillions. Most use basket hilts due to the rules requireing gauntlets or for more hand dexterity they feel they would loose to gauntlets.

Your going to have to have padding, so a leather gauntlet is going to be bulky no matter what.
You could try a leather cover over a metal mitten gauntlet.
