Count Sir Hadi the Aspiring used to have a pattern for a simple set of leather clamshell gauntlets posted online at one point. I'll do a google search for them, but they used to be accessible off the Meridies.org site (before they redesigned it), and were published in a TI some years back (Back whe...

I have heard some people say that a good rinse and sunbath has worked on their gambesons, though likely not wool. I wonder if turning a garden hose on it for a bit, then leaving it in the sun to dry would do the trick? That is what I do with mine. It is a linen shell with wool batting. Though somet...

Haven't been to Pennsic in years and if I do manage to go one year, I'll be lost. No old classic swimming hole, a snow fence, new camping areas, and now a new Woods Batt...

If they have been hacked - DO NOT go to the webpage. It could do nasty hacker type stuff to people who visit. Already did that. Just some boring old web graffiti. Not even some cool malitious ECMAScript. Just take a look at the source. I bet they have a website listing their past and latest exploit...

Don't worry too much about it this year. It's still a proposal before the membership for comment and will not see any decision on it til October. So, there will be Waterbearing at Pennsic. I don't know why people seem to have read it to mean that waterbearing must stop immediatly. Though it is a goo...

lol, heavy fighters in their expensive leather and steel armor being drenched by children with water balloons. Good point. -Aaron I guess it depends on the local fighters. Mine is coated in a couple of layers of Herculiner. I tried it on one of my flail heads. After it dried, I weighed it and it was 7oz., a 1oz. increa...

Here are my two.

It's not four flails. Just the two flails in their original configuation and then as they currently are, as according to the Eastern guidelines. I'll be adding the four hole leather buttons on the ends this week.

Nice feedback. I've been thinking of that end knot and wondering if anyone had issue with it. I melt the end of the ropes to seal them. Which you have to do to avoild problems like you mentioned. The melted ends of the rope are hard and can be sharp. So, they have to be covered to protect the knot a...
