I used 1/4" and 3/8" Shocktec to pad my current helmet. Have a Unequal Tech Gyro http://www.unequal.com/shop/gyro that I use in the previous helmet in IMCF steel fighting. I recommend Shocktec for padding steel fighting helmets, The Unequal Tech liners are backup / supplemental padding and not prim...

Shocktec, Unequal & Sorbothane
I am looking at modern padding for my upcoming helmet and gauntlet projects. From what I gather Shocktec , Unequal & Sorbothane are great modern foams and absorb shock well, but I know little beyond that Does anyone know how they compare to one another? Would one be better for head vs hands? Are any...

If you're handy with a hammer, anvil and chunk of wood the kit that Polar Bear Forge sells are quite nice and great value. If you are interested I am selling such a kit in 16 gauge stainless. (Which is no longer produced in that gauge) In regard to the revival gauntlets, a friend of mine has used h...

You can check Effigies and Brasses as well. Stupid Sexy Flanders (Seeking Flemish 14c armor refs)
I was documenting a 14th century (1340s to 1370s) English kit when I discovered a great source in my Manuscript Miniatures source. It had a lot of great armor and weapons that worked with what I had and wanted to make. It was "The Romance of Alexander". Yesterday, I discovered that it was not from E...

Is Crimson forge still arround?
I was looking to talk to Crimson Forge about regarding gauntlet parts
I sent them an email, but it failed to send, saying the address was invalid.
Are they still around?
Does anyone know the people who used to run it? Are they on the archive?
Any and all help/info will be appreciated

Interesting. I'll ask the guy who I know use scale kits, because that sort of inadequacy still strikes me as strange. But to each their own.
