I'm trying to envision different scenarios where I could discard bow, draw sword/buckler and trade hearty blows in joy, but can't really see it happening if I'm being run down. If I'm furiously backpedaling, I just can't wrap my head round discarding my bow in a safe manner. As that seems one of th...

Re: The Sinister Ones
Who do you think are the best lefties in the known world? I am from AEthelmearc (and a lefty myself). While we have some very talented left handed fighters, we seem to have fewer than some of the other kingdoms (notably Atlantia). Also, how do you think the best lefties match up against the best ri...

There are very few camping events. If you are not willing to travel far, you may only encounter one or two per year. Generally, summer event season is spent preparing for Pennsic, but for some reason that doesn't involve much camping. Shrug. -Donasian. Don, since he's darn near the center of the Mi...

I have in the past used thrust and throw javelins and throwing axes. The difference between these ans CA is (as some earlier stated) is range. IMO, these are best used in woods/town/castle gate battles. I have seen both in bridge battles, with the axes being in the sheild wall and the javelins mainl...

Marcus, welcome to the Mid! Sternfeld has some pretty good practices. You are not too far from Shadowed Star, home of one of the bestest melee units anywhere (Darkmoon). Along with the list Leo stated, there is also Baronial Border War on Father's Day weekend in Andelcrag. Rose Tourneies are somethi...

Gotta find a way to scan it in (it's on a real picture ) A butt ugly spun dome (with a cool paint job done by my lady-wife, and yeah, I still have the helm), blue barrel chest and back, EGG arms and legs and horrific yellow and black srtipped fighting pants, one leg wide stripes, the other narrow. A...

Hey I am just glad I made somone's list. Incidentally, Brannos tends to kill me before I have the chance to notice his pretty smile. I remember your lid from 8 or 10 years back, when I first started. (at least I think it was you, it was the red devil armor ). And that young Brannos does have a winn...

Re: Best in various forms?
I didn't want to derail the other topic. We had a thread listing the best in various forms a while back, I'd like to see what's going on with these forms now. I'll start as my picks for the West Kingdom. Sword and buckler: Sir Robert Woodsende Poleweapon: Tough one, Brand isn't playing as much, and...
