If you rely on basket hilts with your demis, and you lose your hand protection (ie the basket), you should yeild,, as you are not properly armored.

I am going to recommend that you avoid By My Hand as well. f Freiman, I think you got "by the sword" mixed up with "By My Hand" (our Cap'n Jamie here on AA, and whom I've dealt with) I do think the 5 leatherworkers you named are good, from what I've read of their reviews.

Presumably the period answer to crushed toes were sabatons? All of the medieval footwear I've seen (note: nothing like an exhaustive sample) has been soft-bodied, but this has to have been a problem they had, too. D: Please define 'do not trap their polearm'. Shields and weapons are made to come in contact with one another. Weapons bash shields all the time why not bash weapons with shields?
