One you didn't mention is sword and buckler. Very authentic, very mobile and very fun. +1 on this. Perhaps you could get the buckler to be placed on the backside of the pavaise. Mad Matt's got some good ones, fairly cheap. That and a basket hilt, TAA DAA! Your best situation would be to form a unit...

While I haven't reviewed the rules lately, the last I knew combat archers were explicitly prohibted from fighting hand to hand while still carrying their bow. Yes, I tend to agree that MSDS sheets have a tendency to make EVERYTHING hazardous. The best one is the MSDS for compressed breathing Air, it is toxic you know! Several years ago I made a bunch of 5/16" y-bolts by welding 3 bolts (I believe 1 1/4" long) into a y shape.
Found the easiest way to do this was with either an 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 " castle nut. Which ever one the 5/16 bolt will drop into. Castle nuts are crenlated :wink:

Work the angles, that is to say, use lateral movement rather than linear. This is my current focus as a polearmsman (well, woman, but you know what I mean.)
