I wanna be a Anglo Saxon soldier at the Battle of Hastings. I have two problems. First, I hate bargrills. Second, I dont like the look of greathelms... I like spangen helm tops. Did they have spangen helms with closed faces? Also, what should I have in my soft kit? What cloth pieces would I wear ov...

Shaul,

Tents are a lot simpler to make than you might expect. If you are on a budget, then it is definately the way to go.

I have one of the type described in detail here,

Tom,

What period(s) do you portray?

This may have some bearing on what you ought to be doing with it.

Generally, Chef's suggestion of wearing it as a pendant jewel on your headwear is pretty good.

And Congratulations on your fortune, Do deeds in her name.

Hi Thaddeus.

Heathrow and Car share with a local is quite do-able. I think BA gives you 2 23kg bags for free. There are other clever options..

Bristol Airport is fairly close, has direct flights to new york.
http://www.bristolairport.co.uk/newyork.aspx

And again, a local carshare can be arranged.

have a look through Tasha's site, http://www.cottesimple.com/

You should consider Caligae rather than the light sandals you show. m (bottom of the page) Walk before you run a twenty mile route march in kit is more in the legions' line than a 20 mile run. Why not take off one side entirely. Mark both sides as cutting surfaces. A two sided weapon with an obvious head. I'd be happy to pass that. Personally I would make the head about 2/3rds the length of yours. It'll speed up your weapon, and allow you to reverse it more effectively. You might also fin...
