My new cote!
Greetings all, My lady mother finished my Christmas present and I just recieved it. Well actually, the hood did get here for Christmas, but the cote took a bit longer. I picked up the grey wool on ebay for 25 dollars. I'm not sure where mom got the blue wool for the hood. The pattern is from period ...

I agree with everyone who said our ruleset favours the sword over the axe. Now, when I was in White Mountain, I had a killer axe that Sir Tore made for me. After a few practices, he said I was a natural chopper, so, here's an axe. It was made of an axe balde shaped piece of barrel plastic, covered i...

Excellent artwork! I'm not sure, but I think the unicorn is a chimera type monster, like the griffon, in that it combines different animals. I found a good short blurb that appears below. You need to be a tad more specific in your time frame, or make outfits for several eras. There is a huge amount of difference between 10th cent clothes vs late 14th cent clothes. You're looking at the evolution of the tunic into the more fitted kirtle and bliaut into the multigored gowns of the 14th...

It depends on your prefered fighting style. If you like to fight in close, then you are good to go. The reason you haven't seen any maces around is probably because SCA combat doesn't give them the credit they deserve. They are slower than swords, are often subject to silly padding restrictions.
