Re: Polearm fighting ACL
So whats the rules here? No stabbing? I mean I totally get it stabbing with steels is a recipe for...like...the kind of hurt you don't get better from, but doesn't it take alot of the realism out? Without stabbing on polearms you get a bunch more close in action than I imagine you would without stab...

Re: Weight Training for SCA fighting
The answer to what is the best weight training method is..... Whichever one you can stick with :) One session of the best training in the world is still rubbish if its the only one you do all season. I like sandbag training because I can keep my sandbag at home and its easier to summon the motivatio...

Shadow boxing
Any tips on performing shadow boxing with weapons? (Other than don't smash the lights of course) Trying to fit some extra solo practice into the week. I use a polearm if that makes any difference.

Re: SCA rapier?
Ok cool, draw cuts are kinda good practice anyway I guess. So under basic rapier rules, steel blades/basket hilts/thrusting/draw cuts. Under cut and thrust percussive cuts are ok, but overall no grappling (grabbing the blade?) or pommel work. Is that right? West Dragonshire is the bunch I'm training...

SCA rapier?
So I have an interest in english backsword/highland broadsword mostly centered around Thomas Pages work, and I was thinking about kicking about with some SCA rapier work with the local group I just signed on with (in between heavy combat). Just wondering though, are basket hilts legal? Do we use ste...
