The tip will compress on impact, or fold with a less perfect strike, easing the force communicated to your partner. Beyond polearms, the tip can be used effectively as a s...

Re: What does "Looking good on the field" do for y
"Looking good on the field" ie well made and maintained Kit, armor, and garb. What does it do for you? Leo For one thing, it means that might kit is in good working order. I am fighting with my opponent, not my own armour. Second it helps me figure out how to make my kit more effective for me. As a...

Where I have found halfswording to work within SCA combat is when I have been legged. This allows me to block better and have a greater control of my weapon to strike from this position. Also as Cet has it on the money about it's range within SCA combat and the fact that you can switch back and forth.

The same as Sebastion. What I did was decide on an era, researched and built my kilt to match. It is not 100% done but this is what I have done so far:

I have used both swords, and I own the knight's sword (c481). Both are well balanced. However if you are planning on doing dual sword work with them I would recommend the knight's sword over the viking, as you will want the longer quillions for protection. Jeff, Blanket statements do not cover all o...

Atlantian Squires website

Well it is finally up and running. The website currently has all of the squires that I know of. I will continue to update it. Let me know if I missed anything.

That would be great Sir Bryce, I have a ton of pics to go through of the various fights. Unfortunately my camera battery died before the final match, but James B got pics though. As I posted on the PoC board, Sinclair will be knighted at Feast of the Unicorn on November 20th. I will see if I can get...

Good luck, but as I said before they look like they are getting there stuff from Pakistan. Even most of the Indian "combat ready swords" have rat tail tangs as opposed to full tangs. Also unless Swordsmart is a direct sales company of the makers of the arms and armor, they probably have no say in ho...

Ok this makes more sense now. This is not an Indian manufacture but Pakistani. (And yes there is a big difference) This is a whole sale company, for ebayers and lots of merchants that you see at Renn fairs and SCA events. Plus you have to buy in bulk. No one or two pieces here and there. The King's ...

It's called a corazina. Nice SCA armour, but is based on a butcher job the New York Met did, when they got their hands on great collection of armour.
