Most of the clothes was made by ourselves, James either had a big hand in or made a great deal of it for the guys. There is the occassional HE outfit thrown in amongst the mix that really has helped us along as well.
Kass, Kim, and Charlotte made all of their own stuff.

The meal was going just fine, until Steve and Kass began to duke it out over what was a primary source of period napkins.

Regarding MTT in general; It was a complete blast. I always enjoy going about to the other groups and see what they are doing and talking to them as well. The public, to me, makes it even more worth while. Every one there was nice and there was a lot more interaction between various groups of people...

Living History Reenactor standards

Chef brought this up rather well in another thread and it is a screaming pet peeve of mine. m So if you participate in "Living History" which do you feel is better: To try to look like a 15th C painting come to life, or to try to know what life was really like in the 15th C? (15th C is just an examp...

Pennsic: Historic Combat Series and Seminars?

Does anyone know if there will be a Historic Combat Series this year at Pennsic?
I am also wondering if Christian Tobler and/or Brian Price will be hosting their seminars this year there too.

Any particular reason why there are three field battles back to back on Monday, three bridge battles back to back on Wednesday and two Mountain Pass battles back to back on Thursday? Seems like a bit of overkill.
Also has anyone heard anything about the Historic Combat Series yet?

When keeping it real goes wrong: It was just another ordinary SCA event, as Jenseny walked towards the fighting field to join his melee team, when he heard, "Hey nice kit." Jenseny could have simple nodded and continued on, but instead he decided to "keep it real." "Nice kit? Nice kit! I keep it rea...

I'll see what I can dig up. The Di Crapio version was pretty bad over all, but then I enjoy Ian McKellan's Richard III, Anthony Hopkins' Titus Andronicus and Kenneth Brannaghs' Hamlet. The Shakespear company in DC usually does their productions in somewhat modern dress. Thier productions of Henry VI...

I'll have to double check, but I believe that most of his plays were performed in then modern clothing, regardless of what timeframe the play was set in. If that was truly the case, then so called "modern interpretations" are actually more in line with Elizabethan theater. In general though I am not...

I have the pratical knightly sword. I enjoy it. Rampantbore has the hand and a half which is also not bad either.
I have heard not so great things about the ECW and Basket hilts though, something about the tang being too weak.

The movie that they saw this in is "The Vikings" as worn by Kirk Douglas.
Everything that the model is wearing is from Musuem Ripoffs.
Has anybody ever seen Hank Rhienhardts video on Viking Swordsmanship, it makes "The Vikings" look like a documentary.

You're welcome.
Blankenshield is a good example of bad research. Armour should be form fitting, not three sizes too big for you. And while he does make some interesting points here and there, he is a total nut ball.

Arms: The vambraces are buzbands, which would be ok, but someone added "wings" to either side so that the elbow would have more protection, so now you can't move the arm in any direction other than straight up and down. The rear brace wraps completely around the bicep, restricting flexing com...

I was not quite sure where to put this and I wanted to make special note that this has nothing to do with Armourers on this board. But..
