I wouldn't worry about the foam rubber, but other than that you should have a really nice looking shield. I think the foam rubber UNDER a garden hose that will be covered is just to much. It might be against the rules for the main material, like using a sheet of fiberglass. But I don't see any problem with using it to increase the strength of a legal material. Yeah, I took it to mean Harold Godwinson too, but still just about as wrong. However, sometimes people try to make history easy for everyone to digest. They use terms people find more palitable than warrior or soldier, such as knight, and think it's a good thing.
