Attn: merchants going to pennsic

Owynn Greenwood kickstarted this idea in my head (not literally what with his broken ankle and all) and I thought I'd post it here and see what kind of responses it'd get. I want to go to Pennsic. Everyone here knows that. It'd be nice to be able to sell some of our wares while I was there but I dou...

Kay of Darkmoor posted about a movie being made a while ago, but I'm glad to hear that it's finally going to start filming! I know who you're talking about when you say the young cop in The Fast and the Furious, and I think he would make a decent Chris as long as they remember that Chris is a pretty...

If Bokalo would pay a little more attention to cleaning up his welds and sanding/polishing his pieces, I'd probably like them more. The only thing I would feel safe wearing is the early spangenhelm and I'd have to make a new grill for that. Don't even get me started on those gauntlets... Where's Gun...

Trolling for interest - Scales

A friend of mine wanted to know what you guys thought about scale armour in terms of pricing, size, and materials. If you were in the market for scales, what size/thickness would you want and why? Holes already punched or no? What is a fair price per scale?

High gothic suit cap-a-pie in titanium and spring steels. All highly polished, of course. My second choice would be a pigface bascinet made by Jeffrey Hedgecock, segmented breastplate, and appropriate 14th century arms and legs with brass trimmins'. My third choice would be the fully articulating bo...

Well, Ti is .49 the weight of regular steel, right? So you'd need a helmet approximately twice as thick as regular mild steel in order for it to weigh the same. So, if you wanted a helmet with mass similar to one made of 14ga (.080) then you'd have to make it from .160 thick Ti plate. That's what, 6...

Another weekend passes; another set of pictures go up on the web. Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 As is pretty obvious, these are based off of Andy Ward's gauntlet pattern. They are 16ga stainless with stainless rivets and brass trim on the cuff. I think of them like big, metal boxing gloves http://www.armourarch...

Thanks Kjar. That information is helpful. It sounds like ideally I should be looking for alpha-beta because I will need to make some complex curves in a knuckle plate for these gauntlets I'm making. I want titanium plate

I'd like to get my hands on a few square feet of some 18 or 20 gauge titanium plate for a special project I've got in mind for myself. Alloy isn't that important to me.
