I've got one that you may be able to use. It's 12ga mild steel round top that has been TIG'ed together. I was going to do something with it in the future but probably never will. It's also got a strip of 14ga steel riveted down the middle with truss head rivets and the strip has a rough ridge down t...

Ron's site is down. Ivar (Phil DiGiacomo) is the main contact person and he's pretty good to respond within a day or less. His email address is norsetrader.inc@verizon.net He works with/for Ron and you can place an order through him. Ivar says that he will also have a more formal price list with Ron...

I really hate SCA
Oops, I misspelled it. I meant to say "I really hate ska music." Why won't the Mighty Mighty Bosstones just die??? Come on, trumpets _and_ guitars playing together? Give me a break.

Thanks again http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif We made the wrap plates and will be attaching them this weekend. Then on go the straps and voila! They're done. A lot of work went into those legs and I'll be glad to see them go to their hopefully happy owner. Since these pictures were taken, ...

Although I couldn't show you the specific reference, I believe Fiore used a pommel strike in unarmoured combat (more of a jab with the butt end of the sword) and in the armoured halfswording techniques there was a panel with an armoured man grasping the sword blade like an axe and driving the sharp ...

Thanks all. LS, we're going to add wrap plates on those legs and will most likely start working on them today. And yes, the oxblood leather does really bring out the brass accents. http://www.geocities.com/darkmoorarmoury/newitems.html Here are some of the recent items my dad and I have been working on for none other than Lord Charles himself. The legs are 16ga stainless steel and the leather is 8-10 ounce oxblood latigo, which was really hard to find but was worth it. The fl...

Didn't you guys read his post? He's not in the SCA. Sheesh, some people http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/wink.gif My vote is for finger gauntlets. They have a higher "Oooh" factor with a little splash of "Awwww" Mittens are nice and all that, but if you're going to make wallhangers, go for the finge...

What would it take to make these legal?
http://www.therionarms.com/AAM/czh_pa009.html Just by looking at these gauntlets, what do you folks think it would take to get these accepted by your SCA marshalls? If they were legal, would anyone buy them? What's a good price for them? Are the thicknesses of steel strong enough or would you recom...

For combat, I'd recommend against that setup. However, if you're just going to walk around a ren faire or even hang that on your wall, a hauberk with coif for $200 isn't a bad deal. You won't find that kind of a deal by any private seller here in the States or elsewhere. Ebay may be the only other p...

What is "Sport" Combat?
I would like it if someone could really define for me what exactly the "sport" of combat is. How do you know if your combat system is a sport? What is a sport? Where do you draw the line between sport and everything else? What is everything else? Why are there so many question marks in here??? -----...
