There is going to be a lot of food at this shindig, so bring your appetite! Just a reminder - while we do have a good supply of tools, it would be helpful if you could bring some of your own tools down and mark your name on them somehow.

Recommended Compounds for Buffing Wheel?

My dad and I hit Harbor Freight today and walked out with about $300 worth of stuff, including a buffer and some emeril(sp?) compound and a tube of tripoli compound. First, let me say that if anyone is contemplating buying a buffer, definitely do it - we couldn't be happier with ours. The finishing ...

Why? Because the knights that inhabit my dreams, my thoughts, my heart, and whom I try to emulate, wore so much armour.

I'm not doing myself or them justice by throwing together a half-assed harness and playing like I'm a ninja viking.

My MIG/flux core welder finally came in. We got some stump stands for people to use. Also got a blower for the forge which should be ready by the Hammer-In.

I recently purchased a 105 amp Campbell Hausfeld MIG welder for $235 from ebay. My dad taught me to weld with a MIG in about 10 minutes, and it was surprisingly easy.

Arc welders are much cheaper, but MIGs are far easier to use for the beginner, in my opinion.

IIRC, soaking your maille in lemon juice overnight and leaving it to dry will thoroughly darken the maille. If you want to tumble a shirt (or anything heavier than a pound) do it with a barrel (or 5 gallon bucket) and a large hill. Driers don't like it when you shove maille in them http://www.armour...

Norman, when I had a oxy tank bottom shipped to me, it only cost like $5 for Priority Mail. Granted, it has gone up a little bit, but if you want a 1' bottom, the cost of shipping is certainly going to be less than $10 via USPS

We'd probably just want the four tanks cut at about 3' long, unfinished.
