My number one problem is the shield in my right hand. My right arm is used to doing all the moving and instinctively, as I moved last night, either with the shield or just holding my arm like I had a shield, my arm was all over the place. I have to learn to control that arm, keeping it in close to ...

Otto, I'm curious about the location of the points and your strapping on the legs themselves. It looks like you're strapping on the front face of your hips, and I've been told (and have been telling others) that the optimum location for the straps are more to the side, over the hip point. Was I wrong?

Why Roderick and Mandrake Armoury are cool

At Gulf Wars this year, I dropped by Mandrake Armoury to pick up a buncha stuff he had for Sir Alrek. We had a fun conversation I had with him, I forgot what exactly about, and then I went off shopping. At some point in the evening, I left one of the items he'd given me for Sir Alrek in a shop on me...

Rod, are the tooling and such of sufficient level that a monkey with a hammer can handle the shaping? Because that's what gets me on most gauntlets I work on... there is so much fine tuning of the shape that it takes 40+ hours of shaping just to get the pair to work correctly. In general, Americans have ZERO concept how much work is required to make ONE of anything.
