Finished Kettle Helm

After 5 months of snatching a couple of hours here and a couple of hours there, helping new people make their armour, and in short getting very little time, I finally finished off the helm that me and Marke von Manz have be working on. Its a kettle helm, or chapel de fer, and will show the distinct ...

If they were REALY not paying attention, a fun thing to do would have been to quietly walk up to them, tap them to get their attention, smile, and say "Hi! I'm on the other side!" Uber-low tech, but I've become the biggest fan of the cold-chisel. Like others have said, make sure they are sharp, make sure your work is secured, and make sure your hammer is heavy. 3 or 4 good blows removes 95% of the rivets I've had to remove.

#1. There are no society rules against butt spikes on polearms. Your kingdoms rules might differ. Mine don't. We are allowed to have butt-spikes. #2. IMO, it is absolutely essential to have a butt-spike on a polearm. It is not possible to fight at the nearly the full potential without a butt-spike. ...
