btw, I would be wiling to trade some of these for good shop tools. I need a Roper Whitney punch, preferably bench mounted, or a REALLY good buffing motor. If traded, I would pay shipping on the tool coming back to me.

Oooh. Very nice... I think that I should make one too now... This would be cool.... Are you gonna heat treat it too?

Also, can I get a better pic of how you did the socket? That looks very cool.

What are you guys? A buncha panty-waists? Typical weights on the weapons I've seen (courtesy Hal of Calontir) were around 1 lb per foot on swords and great swords. Ansteorra has 1 lb/foot maximum on GS, and Calontir has a 4 lb MINIMUM on great swords. 2.5 Lbs still leaves you 3.5 lbs for rattan, whi...

Weapons Racks

I know its a bit esoteric, but someone asked me the other day about period weapons racks. Does anyone know how or in what fashion weapons were stored either

a) on Campaign or
b) at a Castle or other-point-of-armouring?

Thx,
JP

Lynx, they are temporary rivets. I've been told that they were designed and made for the airplane people who had to rivet huge sheets of aluminum together.

They basically allow you to fill all of the holes when riveting two sheets of metal together.

And they kick ass. I need more.

As someone who seems to get my stuff pulled out of my hands (no grip tape, and a loose sliding grip tend to help) I don't like it when someone tries to break my spears, but I'm typically ok with them trying to grab it out of my hands. Dah, 2.5 lbs is a bit heavy. Its down by a pound from the previous version. I think other ways to reduce the weight would be: #1) Shorten the Center pipe to just tall enough to attach the rings to. #2) Shorten the quillions. #3) Go from 1/4" steel on quillions to 1/8" steel. I'm worried about that f...

Its static electricity buildup. When you rub the felt wheel on the metal, an electrical charge builds up. Since the buffer's case is connected to earth ground (thats what that nifty third plug is for) and is metal, when you get close enough the impedance of the air gap gets low enough for current to...
