Edwin, I agree. If you walked into my kingdom and said "oldcastle" I bet you 2 out of 3 fighters would reply like this: "Old castle? Well, are they ALL old castles? There aren't any new ones... Not to derail the Otto train, I still would not recommend making coats of plate using peened rivets. Peened rivets are more likely to tear the leather during failure, where as snap rivets will usually fail before the leather tears. As replacing a rivet is easy and replacing torn leather is a pain in...

Copied from the ones my knight has. Simple solution
Finally hit on a simple solution to the "basket-hilt-impacting-the-back-of-the-female-hand" problem that we have with many of our new women fighters. I gave her my gauntlet and cross-hilt sword. Amazingly easy. http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif Wish I'd thought of it years ago. ------------...

Calontir refers to their polearms as "artillery" which is a fairly accurate characterization in my opinion. They hit hard from long range, but if you jump up right next to them that are in a pinch. I find glaives best for open field, and halberds and bec-de-corbins best for closed front battles. Ver...
