Well, see part of the reason I asked was that I was gonna get some stainless steel for them to do it with (using a brushed finish) to help keep the weight (and maintenance) down... so I was more wondering about the square footage.. if however, you think you can get four out of 32 sq feet, that drops...

Lorica Segmentata size
Does anyone have an approximate value for how much sheet steel is needed for a Lorica for a person of average height (say around 5'10) and weight (180 lbs) using the archive patterns? Two of the guys in our shire are wanting to make them, and estimating its going to take 16 sq feet of metal for each...

"How We do It" by Jean Paul http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif 1) No loaner armour is EVER given away. I feel armour has an intrinsic value. If someone wants to keep a peice of loaner armour because it is made well or fits them well, then they will replace the peice with their blood sweat an...

You know, I've heard this story several times, and I know it happens. It didn't happen to me, but a lot of people it happened to in our group. Hi sarnac. Yep, I fight a LOT with rattan spears.... I don't really cotton to the fiberglass ones quite as well. Benefits: 1) Smaller thrusting tip 2) Wobble can go around defense 3) Tough to break over the wall at Gulf Wars. Drawbacks: 1) Loses a "beat" contest versus the fiberglass ones 2) Can be ...

I saw several of your comments noting that "thi...
