I didn't want to tell all my secrets Good distillation of the effects of a deep crouch. I guess the same could be applied to all stances but the crouch amplifies the effect. It does. I typically fight from a 55/45 front-back weight split. My retreat *is* just a fraction of a bit slower, but I'm ok ...

I disagree alexander.....if you are out of range.... you should be ina ready but relaxed stance...if its a point of getting "bored" as you put it.. then you should step back and relax...not attack I think what he is saying is that the opponent in crouch will get bored and attack. Not that getting b...

Stainless, not mild. Also, you have a reasonably large bar-grill, which adds to the weight. In addition to the problem of denting, the lighter weight of 16 gauge is an issue.

Re: Helmet gauge curiosity...

Okay... Up in Alaska, Wombat taught me the joys of making helmet skulls in 12 gauge since they resist denting better, but in Norman this last weekend I got swarmed by the SCA fighters looking my 16 gauge Norman Spangenhelms over to see about upgrading them for fighting. Is this normal or a local th...

Richard, I pretty much agree with you. I love the look of the Revival, but unless they are in a skilled, careful fighters hands, I cringe a bit. They aren't terrible for body shots, but for head shots they can deliver a really good blow with very little effort.

Re: Welcome to the Suck - Minstrel style

Guys, I have been stuck on a plateau for a couple of years. I have decided that the only way for me to actually improve is to radically change my style, for an extended period. Normally, I can switch between my normal style to a different style (one that I don't use as well) pretty easily, but in t...

Even at this later date, talk to them about it. I saw Vitus's first post, and thought "God, hope its not me he's talking about". But if it is, I hope someone would let me know so that I can examine my actions, and take appropriate measures.
