In my short experience, the rawhide mallets (search ebay) are the best dishing hammers you can use. With a nice polished dishing form, you get work so smooth that no planishing is needed. This greatly speeds up the process of armouring.

Dmitry, how could I be offended? I *WAS* a fat guy. I'm really pretty happy about not being one anymore, but keeping weight off is actually harder than losing it, IMO.
