Yep, that's a possibility. I also searched for copper-alloy rivets or bolts with conical heads, but the only products out there appear to be of the jiffy rivet or chicago screw type.

Bronze bascinet pivots?

Anyone have a source for the bronze/brass conical-headed pivots for a side-mounted bascinet visor? The only maker I could find was Patrick Thaden, and only by way of his cached website since he isn't actually selling anything at the moment: http://www.thadenarmory.com/sell/misc/miscellaneous.htm I'm...

Mostly 16h-17th century armor, a few reproductions, and 19th-century firearms. (Pity their in-house experts can't tell a klappvisier bascinet from a barbuta,...

That first one is pretty damn unequivocal. Everything else about his clothes puts him squarely in the late 14th century, and the hose are clearly joined- it's hard to argue with a parti-color codpiece!

Her kit's primarily loaner at this point, but considering she isn't even legal to fight yet, she's way ahead of t...

What about a "subscription rate"? If they buy the first piece of the package, they get a slight discount on the next piece, or buy two pieces and get the third for half price, or something along those lines. I tend to see new fighters who want their own stuff all at once but just don't have the cash...

That's a really old Mandrake hat, if my eye doesn't deceive me- I used to have something similar. Cute collector's item, but I wouldn't trust it to fight in. 30 years ago, scant 16 ga. was considered safe, but we know better now...

It would be so much easier though if folks took responsibility for doing some research, learning to search if needs be, because honestly you know someone will post "I didn't know those threads were there!" How about this: not a list of "bad armorers" or "good armorers" per se, but a locked, stickie...
