Re: Title Stacking
It seems to be customary here in the West that many peers prefer to be announced in the lists as "Sir X" regardless of a higher title they may have earned, though some go by their highest title (though rarely, IIRC, "Count Sir" or "Duke Sir"). I've never heard it expressed as law, but it surely feel...

Very nice. Does she do custom work? I've always wanted embroidered patches with my arms, but the last couple of attempts I made to commission them fell through. PM me if you think she'd be interested.

Remember that your height differential may not translate so much to your ribcage! The size may be closer between the two of you than, say, a set of legs.

The heaume should technically be big enough to fit over the bascinet/cervelliere with an unpadded suspension liner, so it's probably proportional. Get the kid a skullcap with a camail and he's good to go- he can grow into it.

Personally, I prefer the form "Sir Headthwacker, Duke Hellandgone," on the grounds that knighthood is a personal accolade and always applies to the person's first name, whereas in the period usage of a noble rank, it refers to the territory and the personal name of the individual who holds the terri...

What do you have in the "leather/hidden armor" category? I'm fixing to make myself kidney protection to go with my globose, and maybe a gorget, so dibs on anything that qualifies! I am in Sunnyvale and can drop by pretty easily- PM me and let me know when and where.

Re: WTB: Clamshells for SCA, Hard Artic. Thumbs, Cheap
These were my spear-slingin' gauntlets for many years, but I've converted to fingered hourglass so I no longer need them. They are old Mandrakes that I dismantled and totally reworked- note the all-mighty enclosed thumbs! They have medium size gloves with padded backs riveted in. My only complaint i...

Re: WTB: Clamshells for SCA, Hard Artic. Thumbs, Cheap
These are the unstrapped ones- Milanese early 15th century style by Paul Chen / Hanwei, I believe. The thumbs are on leather, but they can be converted to rivet articulation with a little effort. I will post more pics if you need. Kult of Athena has these for $125. I will go $75 plus shipping since ...

Weasel, what's your hand size? Mac, thanks for the offer! I'll ask my wife to shoot some pictures of me in kit this weekend. It's brand new and I've only fought in it once so far. Other than a little discomfort where the strap junction bears down on my left collarbone, I didn't notice any problems- but half an hour of SCA practic...

I have no stake in this sale, but I just wanted to observe that this is the ideal period tent for bachelor or couple-camping- my lady and I used this same model and size tent for many years when we played in Carolingia and were very happy with it. One person can set it up quickly. Bargain price, too...

This is tremendously interesting to me. I was diagnosed with reasonably mild scoliosis (8 degrees) a few years ago, following which I lost a lot of weight and really started noticing what a cockeyed line I describe from head to knees. This afternoon, I had a "Richard moment." I put on, for the first...

Re: Metal splints for splinted arms and legs
5/8" x 1/8" hot-rolled flat stock from Home Depot is a dead ringer for the splints appearing on some German effigies, and holds up quite well in action. You'll need a vise, a hacksaw, a file and a drill, that's it.

I think someone snapped up the one I liked the best- that's what I get for hesitating. May I call dibs on #16? I'm going to post a link to one of my local groups and see if any of my friends would like to place an order as well, so they can be combined in the same box.

Re: WTS Aluminum Corrazina Kit
What are the actual measurements of the chest and back plates? I'm looking at this for a friend, though I might need to chop it up a bit and move things around in order to fit her.
