I know this thread is extremely old, but I'm super interested in a shield like this. Hopefully you're still on this forum.

I believe it is 14 gauge, extremely solid. I bought it second hand, but it appears pretty much unused. It doesn't have padding in it. My head is about 56 cm (22 inches) and it feels a bit big for me. I'm sure this will fit large and xlarge heads really well. It does have an aventail as well! I'm ask...
