Re: Fluting instructional video on youtube
I prefer the fluting from the front myself, much more controllable and faster. do you have a link to a video or pictures showing the process of setting the flute from the top? I've always done it from the back and am interested to know what type of stake configuration you use to line it up properly.

Re: Working armour hot with oxy acetylene.
I use a 20 lbs Oxy/Propane setup with a gas saver, T-Rated hoses and a large cutting head. The tip has been unscrewed and the centre hole has been plugged from the back with a piece of wire so that I can never accidentally bump the handle and add extra oxygen. This works so well for me. You can see ...

Re: Patina finish
I would not call this a light patina. This falls into the heavy/pitted patina category. I doubt that the helmet shown ever had a mirror polish. I would guess that they achieve that by sanding the helmet without planishing fully. They basically are roughing out the shape of the helmet using heat and ...

Re: Polishing Hammer Heads
Ps: Can hammers and tools contain spirits? This one has a warm hefty friendly feel. I have picked up used hammers before and received a mean ugly hateful feeling from it. I always toss them back in the junk box. I only buy the happy hammers. I agree completely. All tools have spirit. There should a...

Re: Game of Thrones Armour: Making a Lannister Helmet
Cian: Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. In answer to your query about 18 ga.... 18 Ga is great for costume armour. The actors feel like it's "real" armour that is "heavy" but it's super easy for us to work with. Those that manufacture armour know that 18 ga is neither "real" or "heavy" armour. ...
