Well, a mace can't hit flat. That was just the first thing I wanted to build. I want an axe, a proper mace, and a few other things.

I am so used to being able to roll my sword around in my fingers with my basket that using mitten gauntlets prevents me from using a lot of shots I like. I can't afford finger gauntlets so I was trying to diversify my weapons and still use a basket hilt.

So, legal, but not appropriate. That answers my question.
