Given the knowledge of anatomy needed for making historic armour I think it's unlikely that an armourer would have so poor an understanding of torso musculature. No doubt it's a funky piece but I can't see shoehornign into the catagory of mascled breastplates being justified.

Oskar, Contact me via e-mail and I'll send you a price list. I sell dished halves and I can also provide welding if you don't have access to a welder. I've never shipped to NZ that I recall but I've sold a bunch of stuff to Sir Alfar in the past and several other folks as well. My e-mail is below in...

Hi Matt, Oxy Acetylene or oxy propane? If you haven't bought the tanks yet I'd recommend oxypropane as it is much more economical to run. You won't be able to weld with it though. As to the tip size smallish tips are OK for O/A and for O/P if your sticking to lighter (16 ga and higher) material but ...

To my mind the biggest mark against it being a muscled breastplate is that it is not anatomically correct. The modeling does ressemble the musculature of the abdomen but the breastplate covers the chest not the abdomen.

Usually tool steel rod will be sold in an annealed state so the engraving shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure how hard you need coin dies to be but hardening certainly couldnt hurt assuming it's done properly for the application. What type of steel will you be using for the dies?

Ninja's? Not appropriate for European Medieval/Renn Tournaments. Though perhaps it would be entertaining to watch...

With real ninjas you wouldn't see anything though. Plus they are masters of disguise.

Count Rhys is actually a ninja.

Hi V, I believe the guy's prefrence is for cash but I will ask him. He bought the coif, wore it a couple times, and then decided on later stuff. Spending more on mail after using the coif so little puts him in danger from his wife. Who hunts I should be talking to him in the next few days. Cheers

I'd think a "used" coif would be worth fairly close to full price, but maybe knock 'er down to an even 3 Benjamins and she'd move. I agree. Logan's answer came through as I was waiting for the rely field to come up. I agree, keep hitting him as hard as you can/want to until he yields or you feel a good shot land on your body.

On that subject, I'd like to see more dialogue in reference to a point I raised: That of hoi polloi (or worse, chivalry--I think it's criminal when that happens!) who are watching a fight speaking out loud about what they think they see, calling blows for the fighters on the field. I believe specta...

I'm not asking about how hard you can hit a pell or some othe inanimate object.

I'm asking how guys who say they "can't tell how a blow feels to the guy they hit" can know that they are are requiring blows that feel lighter.

If you can't know how hard your hitting you can't know if you are practicing at a 10. Unless you have some way of practice ing in which you hit yourself.

What forms is this inventory available in? Has it been published?
