The owner dropped a bunch of weight so it's time for a refit. I'll get pics befor and after and tell what's been ch...

For what it's worth I was told by a ACW reanactor that it was common practice not to sharpen sabres as it was seen as preferable to break a guys collarbone as he would then be carried from the field by two guys- taking three out of combat rather than just the one if he were killed outright. maybe Ch...

Your well within the time frame for using an armet.

As far as I know the rondel thingy is a mystery to everyone though the most common theory I here is that it's to protect the attaching strap for a wrapper.

...it all depends on control. True, but some tools require more fineness of control than others. That being said, I haven't seen anything on the SCA field that I think requires more than fairly rudementary control to be acceptably safe. 12 foot spears, some hard rubber headed weapons such as the Rev...

I can do it, though I may have to make the spheres in 1/4's and weld them into hemispheres.

I'd have to do some test pieces befor doing an estimate.

Talking will work when dealing with someone of good faith but the real cheaters- those who choose to ignore blows they know are good- wont be helped by talk. Better a cheat win a bout or even a Crown, than judging others blows becomes our common practice.

Everyone misses blows: a few do it intentionally but those who do will not be changed by words when heavy blows haven't served.

It does look disproportional at first glance but the first example posted by Strongbow has similar proportions as well as sharing an overall similar form. Photo angles could be playing tricks as well.

They actually date the armour to 1360-70 which I think is actually a bit late for it. I would place it as being "state of the art armour for maybe a decade or so earlier though 1360-70 might still be within it's working life.

Rather than a back-up set of gaunts you might try having your KEM look at them and if he finds them OK writing you a letter to tht effect which you can keep with your armour. Of course if he thinks they're not Ok you'r kind of screwed.
