To mirror this you would have the field wide open for ten minutes where nobody yields for any reason- just hammer away at each other. Second half is done the usual way until one side buckles.

I ship all but the lightest stuff in double wall boxes via UPS insured for the full value. I pack the boxes myself. Shipping for a finished helm usually runs about $20 on average.

I suspect that the mail was double in some of these spots- i.e sewn to the garment as voiders inside the arm as well as being worn as sleeves overlapping the upper cannon. In practice mail seems to flow over other mail pretty easily without snagging as long as it is well made so I don't envision tha...

If we are to allow as many SCA spears as can brought to the field what we will have is a little less than 30 on 30 with about 75% spears playing at a standard SCA line dual. A very well dressed but boring venue for the fiberglass fencers to play. I don't think so- I think the altered targeting rule...

Y es, as you know, real harness varies in thickness across the surface, and the sheet steel used, and methos\ds of production employed today, do not allow for the sort of surface varience seen historically. Which is one reason why most limb amour made today is heavier than it's historic counterparts...

Hi Bob, Firstly Victor is quoting a weight for harness sans bascinet and aventail He also he is not wearing a coat of plates or full cuirass but simply a breastplate, nor is he wearing sabatons or full greaves 60lbs seems high for a partial harness of this type which sound like the sort represented ...

It sounds a bit high for a transitional harness but not by too much- chances are you would lose several pounds by replacing the butted mail with riveted. It ios also lilely that the limb armour is heavier than what would ave been typical if it is not made from spring steel but intended for heavy use.

One strap across the back at the bottom and a strap from under each arm to the opposite shoulder. The straps to the shoulders don't need to be very tight - just enough to keep the BP from flopping forward too much while allowing it to move with your arm motions a bit: too tight and you get excessive...

They work OK- the template guide feature is nice since you can let loose a guy with minimal;l training and have him produce consistant cuts. The little crescent punch outs are a nuisance- particularly in stainless. A Beverly is faster and a vertical band saw is more versatile.
