The Avant does have an applied rib but the "avant" is not a globose breastplate; also the rib is of a very different shape than seen of globose a shallow 'M" rather than a sharp "V" I don't mean to say they disappeared post 1410 but I think they reached their height of popul...

I have to disagree with Konstantin and Aaron. It seems to me that these were a relatively short lived fashion stradeling the the turn of the 15th century by about a decade on either side. I can't recall seeing any depicted on English harnes at all.

Right Eff's got it . If I wasn't such a luddite I'd post the drawing of the Type one #4 which is like the second pic Cian posted but using fewer plates.

JMperesz,

The material for these will be .08" ( maybe .09") 6061 T6 aluminum.

So, there will be 4 plates in the front, but what about the rear? Will it be a mirror of the front, or will the plates be a wrap of vertical plates as on the Wisby #1? (or is the back not included?) The kit basic kit would copy the Wisby #4 so 5 front plates ( demi-breastplate split down the middle...

Plaster tape works OK. The fiberglass stuff is less messy and makes a more durable mold which is a consideration if you plan on having the mold sent to you to do the casting - as we did with your greaves IIRC. Alginate is the best material I've used but lower leg casts require custom built mold form...
