Ahhh .. you might already have a piece in there that will do the job. Can you snap a pic of the inside of the thumb area? If your sliding rivet already restricts the backward movement then you're all set!

Hey Kronos, Just strong bit of advice from the "been there done that (got the x-rays to prove it) files". Be sure to put a drop rivit at the back side (closest to the forearm) of the gauntlets to keep the thumb from being rotated too far back if a shot catches the tip of the thumb. Had this happen w...

If no one else volunteers, we can have an AA party/gathering in our (Pentamere Free Company) camp. If we get the same spot as last year, we're right on the edge of the battlefield about level with the Fort (so stumbling down hill to your encampment is easy!!!) I'd prefer during the first week as tha...

I've built a couple based off of the TI pattern and will be building a few more. I'll snap and post some pics here w/i the next couple days. Owen, did yours sway at the base hinges or at the torso/arm hinges? It sounds like it might be some play in the hinges causing them to sway. Try putting some m...

Actually I'm down to four after I part with the two up for sale now. Glad to hear he's likin' the helm. I was torn on letting it go as it would have made a great start to an earlier period kit. If Cadogan's squire-bro is interested and in the local area (Midrealm/AE/Eald.) let him know I can bring i...

Be sure to seek out Baron Munenori (Baron of Roaring Wastes) who will be there. Just picked up the helm and did a quick internal brow measurement of 28". I usually wore it with a single layer of closed cell foam inside it and worn a nicely padded full coif (one of the earlier ones from Ice Falcon that I've loved) to bring up the difference. Not sure if that helps ... ----------...

Just put a couple helms and a pair of AB arms up on eBay. Have a batch of the camp boxes up in the eBay store also.

As for the first question ... I'll defer to the those who use chain much more than myself. As for the second ... treat the plastic as if it were metal plate. Depending on the time period used it could be extensive or just a re-inforcement. If it is used, research and try to do the "fabic-covered" pl...

Hmmm I wasn't popping onto Drizz't at first .. I went with the Nasir from the "Robin of Sherwood" series. Then again he wore a mostly leather outfit. As the SCA is one of the most open ended (for better or worse) sport combat styles, I'd say give it a whirl. As long as you meet the safety requiremen...

Another quick and dirty method ... take your scrap canvas and fold a strip/row that your rivets will go through (most CoP rivets seem to be set in rows/lines). Sew this in place and use an awl to make the openings for the rivets. Takes a bit more time, but you end up with multiple layers of canvas f...
