Yep, it's the evaporation that's the key (or so I've found). Most of the wicking garmets are lightweight and thin, allowing rapid wicking with maximum exposure to air. We had a member of Legio Draconis using them at Blackstone Raids. Seemed fairly well accepted. They come in handy for the earlier period types (Gauls, Romans, etc.)
