Gulf Wars
It is with a heavy heart that I will not be able to attend Gulf Wars this year. Conflicting plans and possible impending unemployment have made this decision for me. I am going to strive to make Pennsic, but even that I cannot say for certain at this time. Sir Ceddie, thank you for inviting me to th...

I have thought about that... if the padding is not removable how is one to inspect the welds or internal riveting? I have NEVER had my welds or rivits inspected on ANY of my armor. I may have just been the lucky guy that has slipped through the cracks for the last 10 years, but even when I started ...

Estrella I couldn't count the times I got "hammered". Pennsic, only realy got hammered once or twice. Definatly a milder game at Pennsic then Estrella. I would put Outlands around average with slightly higher for some pockets and with your higher calibur fighters. I will agree with Sir GrimR though,...

The things from "300" are comic book styled pieces. We did pieces for the producers, so they could get the idea sold to the studio, on a deal we would make the film armour, then we got side stepped by the producers and it was made in Canada. Bummer man Rob, familiar with the author, style and histo...

Don't go with the short. I have one attached to my wife'e bascinet and it is fine for a small person from the BOTTOM of a helmet but to come from the crown would be too short. Thanks Ceddie, I wouldn't have been able to answer the question adaquatly as I've handled the welded shirts but not the ave...

while not Riveted.. Master Knuut's welded SS mail looks remarkably like rivited at a very close distance. I viewed both a SS and a Ti hauberk at the Warriors of History tourney and, untill very close inspection, could not tell the difference between welded and rivited. Master Knuut's SS aventails < ...

At Ffair Rhaglan (in Wales) there was a fighter in a burgonet and gauntlets. All his other armour was concealed beneath a shirt and puff-and-slash knee length hose. It was enough to give the Marshals heart attacks but looked really good. I have googled but can't find any pics of him. If It is the s...

"preserved in a church (Bury St Edmunds) since the 15th century" What?? I used to live 15 minutes from there and I've never heard that till now. Between the Fitzwilliam renovations lasting about 3 1/2 years in Cambridge and this, I almost feel like my tour in England was a Jip. But of course it was...
