There is a hoplite reenactment group in Britain that make their armour entirely from multiple layers of linen glued together. It looked like it would stand up to the rigours of combat initially quite well but one of their group that I spoke to told me that it gets considerably more flexible over ti...

SCA Knights and White belts
Hello,
Found this while cruising the Maciejowski's bible site.
http://www.medievaltymes.com/courtyard/ ... ges_11.htm
Might shed some more light on historical practices of medieval knights wearing a white belt.

I checked Western Steel/scrap a couple of months ago. No luck there. I may have to check back this week. Is Perkey Steel over there by the construction and road closure area? Yes. You can reach Perkey from Constitution. Talking with Master Dane, Western Steel has a fairly large influx of what they ...

actually, if it were me, and i didnt care about the acid anymore, i'd sit the bucket on some concrete, and begin dilluting the acid by judicious application of water hose. stick hose in, step far away, turn hose on. once its run for a while, then i'd add the baking soda. -+G the EPA might not like ...

Master Glendor's " Talon armoury " are pretty damn good in my opinion.
http://talonarmory.com/products/gauntlets/ < top one's >
They are Stainless brushed finish. They are not very heavy at all. Lighter then I was expecting < don't have a definative weight < Alcy?>>

I would seriously recommend staying away from any polyester. Or anything that has even a little bit of polyester in it. It tends to hold heat alot more then natural fabric. Cheers P.S. If your looking at doing quilting. I suggest doing the quilting first.. then cut the pattern out of it. Quilting te...

Checking your armor bag as luggage is fine. I've even sent the shield "bare", though one time the airline put it in a large, clear plastic bag. The biggest challenge is not getting it to and from the UK, but flying within the EU. Flights originating and terminating in North America adhere to a diff...

Do these plates really work? I went on to the Newcastle website and right there on the bottom is a message that says: "Plastic lamellar will not prevent injury." If they do work, I'd be interested in taking the pewter ones off your hands. Most armourers will have a disclaimer of that sort on there ...

Re: Battle of Agincourt
Since the English archers were in leather or cloth boots and not steel they moved with greater ease through the mud. Vebrand I seen this also and was interseting except the above passage they said. All the sabatons I've seen were a shell for the upper part of the foot. Not the sole. The sole either...
