I got to see that helm up close and personal this weekend. Very nice indeed. It does go well with her kit also. Very well done. It is made like a tank also. Should serve her many years.

I dare say its a replica of an <I think> Austrialian bank robbing pair "Ned Kelly" that used a suit looking like this out of boiler plate. Used it as a tank on legs so to speak. Someone can correct me on this.

Hello,

You could use a generic gorget and wear an aventail on your helm to cover it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall gorgets being used in the earlier 14c.

You can also buy a strip of sole rubber < vibram of sorts > online. I got a 1'x3' section for $20 < saddly I no longer have the web site >. It is light brown and has little blobs on the bottom. Doesn't look 1/2 bad. Little shoe goop to hold it on and your off to the races.

Azon Maille

Welp,

Got it by UPS today. Bought an Xtra Large one off ebay the other day when the link was put on here. Price on E-bay was $100 less then on there site. Small weave, yea, but looks very sharp. I am fairly impressed. No missing links either.

If your going to use them.. Stay away from the bright colors and go with either the black or brown. One or two of the metalic colored ones look alright. The holes fit 550 para cord nicely. A single knot will not pull out. You should have no issues with cord fraying. They are somewhat thick and will ...

Mandrake Mace Head Review

I recently looked over the foam mace heads that Mandrake sells. They have a authentic profile and approprate size. They are extreemly light, much lighter then any other mace-type-material I have encounterd. While these are very light and squishy, they DO hit with authority. They seem to compact a li...

Myself speaking, I went from a 4 layers of batting to a 2 layers of batting and can't realy tell the difference. 2 layers should do you fine if it's just to take the edge off or used to prevent armour bites.
