I would also be interested, but mostly looking for early 1300's. May be out of your target market. Sketches/pics would be cool.

Also, if you have a dremmel tool, the cutting disks will work. Just stack 3 together and they won't break as quickly.

Hello, I just got done doing something like this for my sugarloaf helm. I did almost 1/2" slots below the occular. Now I can actually see w/o running over small children and stepping on other peoples equipment. On a side note, w/o the slots, even tilting my head down, I couldn't see past a person's ...

Hello,

I've found the arm to move better with the re-brace pointed to the gambeson along with the end of the vambrace.

I've found pointing the spaulders to the arm harness tends to restrict your shot movement. That is only my 2p though.

I'd also second the gorget idea. A gorget can make a somewhat iffy borrowed/loaner helm, legal. Gorget and basket-hilt/ 1/2 gauntlets.

I would say 1/2 gauntlets and basket hilts. For the longest time I did't have any 1/2 gauntlets, was borrowing them. Basket hilts can even be had from Ashcraft/Baker for a tenner each. I have 3 right and 1 left. Rattan would also be a welcome gift. Some poeple don't like lending out there weapons. S...

Is this for SCA or for LH?

The way I have mine strapped is, one strap that is about the top of ears that goes under the jaw, and one that goes from the bottom of the ears to the front of the chin.

I don't think your over-analizing it at all. I had the same concern also, I have roughly 1/2 to a full plate overlap on the front of mine. Just recieved elbows from Ashcraft Baker today. Tentative shipment date was 26 Sept, they shipped 2 weeks early. For lacing, I use black parachute cord. Holds up very well. Now Templar Bob, he likes maxi-cord < which i've heard is going out of business??? >.

You can go the more period approach and use silk cord or leather thonging.
