Eff is correct it's a typo. I only "think" of it in kanji anyway.
"man" =10,000 yen. Roughly $95 dollars at current exchange rates so just under $700.

Not to mention the preponderence of in armours produced by the Maeda clan. The ante has been upped. My next Kabuto is going to have to be something else. This weekend I was fortunate enough to handle another of Klang's creations. Maybe Noe can convince Gustav to post pics. I found a NICE sendai styl...

Arrrgh!! IT'S NOT ZEN!! (But Bedlam was DEAD on about when it occurs). I've had it happen twice in car accidents, and a couple of times when that "zone" helped save me from accidents. OCCASIONALLY ( about 2 shots in 100) it happens when I'm in the dojo. Like many others, my goal is to do it at will....

Hugh, From reading your profile, you know horses. Obviously any pattern you received would need lots of customization for the particular horse. I would advise instead asking for links to good pics of barding and make your own patterns from what you see. Barding is advanced armouring not so much beca...

Sold to Asoph's squire it is. As to materials, sorry I've posted it before. 2mm steel bowl and shita-jikoro. 1mm 1050 highcarbon shikoro. powdercoated. The lace is polypropelyne (or some other non-natural material  ) It IS too low, but it was a prototype.

Eff, Well a possiblility is coating after each row is formed. Tooldip doesn't come in many colors but it DOES come in black and red. Of course there is still the hole spacing problem etc. You're probably right. While there are solutions they'll probably just equal MORE work than it's worth. Of cours...

Well I wear a goatee. I also shave witha straight razor and THAT my friends is probably the reason beards tend to be more popular pre-20th century(the amount of work to stay clean shaven is much higher than most men today realize). It cuts down on the sheep's eyes from women too young for me anyway....

Eff, Be careful you'll go and give me a big head. Let's try for acceptable, I had to make a few compromises for SCA safety issues and I'm afraid I may have made the suneate a bit too long. Of course it could be that they tend NOT to adjust for height when modern Japanese wear them. E-M, I haven't go...

The PRIMARY modification you have to deal with is the kabuto. You have to decide whether you want to form a rigid shikoro (wrong in so many ways) or deal with the design problems of having a rigid skirt underneath. Plastic or powder-coated steel are the only way to go. For ease look at nanban armour...

A poor quality kaga style kabuto in that range. A complete harness kon laced hon-kozane for $15,000. Much...

There are a few other construction sites, but even those in Japanese are a bit suspect. Eff's site is the BEST online resource for Japanese armour construction. Period.
