Sir Finn, Never Dull available at Walmart, etc will clean off anything short of pitting. I've found it takes more elbow grease but it leaves a nice even finish without being overly shiny (which I personally hate). If it's just surface I would say buy a can of never dull, it's a cotton like substance...

I would be the one from classifieds who adjusted my spring legs. I got a set of spring legs from Alan Bauldree and because I have large wide thighs they didn't fit me upon arrival. I adjusted my spring legs with a 2 lb rubber mallet, just hit along the crease in the cuisse (say that three times fast ) until they were wide enough. I completely agree that make them the smallest you are going to want them then harden them. That way when you sell them they can be widened by placin...

in case anyone hasn't seen Matt's greaves they are frontal only not cased greaves. Matt, hardened spring steel is going to be harder for your customer to adjust when received. Dom, you know my story with paying for armor and not getting it. When I went the legal route the response I got was I would have to file a law suit locally (to me). Oswyn, I found the thread you were talking about and the links let me here: m m their web page refers to it as a chopper, 12-13th c Fuassar, Godenac, Fuas, Fuassal or a "pre-Falcion" so I guess the difference is a hundred years??? Then the same type of weapon became a falchion. Outremer does give so...

Carlyle, this is exactly my problem. Looking at the image of the two footsoldiers on the left in the white aketon's attacking I would think that this is one garment and the sleeves are sewn to the inside. Mac Bible padded armor question
Alright, I've been going through a bunch of plates from the Mac Bible on line and I'm completely confused about the aketon images. It appears that the sleeves and body are separate pieces?? Is it two separate garments that are worn one over the other so the sleeves have more flex but the body has mo...

I have to disagree as far as the body part goes, 18 gauge mild should be okay because of the overlap and distribution of force from layer to layer.... however the shoulders are going to be get beat up. If you're planning on fighting sword and shield you could definitely do worse, especially if you h...
