I don't have pics of the number 7 because I haven't got a finished product yet. The Kussnasch coat of plates has pictures on my website. The pics posted in this thread are examples of a wisby 7 coat of plates made by someone else.

Re: Checking for interest in coat of plates kits.
Yes shaped plates debarred and holes drilled. Sizing available from 40 - 56 inch chest. Also include shell patterning instructions and tech support. The #7 has a lot less plates so less overlap so I think 16 GA is appropriate. The kussnasch kit is 18 ga. Both would be galvanized steel. The larger si...

If period artwork is to be believed the waist on a coast of plates is sometimes very low. Remember that the plate design means it's very flexible unlike a solid breastplate so doesn't necessarily need to have the waist at the navel

Re: What patterns do people want to see in a pattern archive
Wouldn't it make sense to put a seperate forum section for patterns and set a rule allowing posting of a pattern as a thread ONLY. With a descriptive title. This would also allow tech support on the patterns posted to be right there with the patterns.

coat of plates kits. Now taking orders!!
I've had a quite a few requests for these in the past while but I'd decided not to make them anymore since they just weren't worthwhile. I'm considering doing them again but Price would be $100 for the kit (it's the plates only) dag plates would still be $3.50 each. Thing is i'd need orders for at l...

I don't share my press forms. Notably my shield boss form. I've sold over 3,000 shield bosses. I also don't share my shop rate. Because SCA people tend to be outraged by the fact that you're not willing to pay them to take the armor you made. Even though my shop rate is less than your average mechan...

To be honest it's a really big ballpark. Could range from $4,000 - $20,000 I do have a commission slot open and am happy to do a payment plan on a black and white suit.

I'm doing a water quench (from the hot water tap not cold water) at 1850f and then a 45 minute temper at 675f and getting good results. You've gotta be really careful about bracing though it collapses really easily under it's own weight at temperature. It does it's best to warp going into the quench...
