Grinder anybody?
Check out this grinder on e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=581320842 It's at 0.01 right now so if you're local you could go pick it up. At over 1000 pounds it'll probably be kinda expensive to ship. ------------------ The budding mid 14th century German Transitional guy....

Ok here's what you need to start a part time armory. Tools for plate are EXPENSIVE. Sure you can sorta get started for cheap. And if you dig and scrounge you can get things for cheap. But you need a LOT of tools. I'm speaking as someone who's still in the process of starting a part-time possibly ful...

It should be noted that I am in the process of making my first helmet. So take my advice with a grain of salt. On the other hand I have very good spatial perception (if that's the correct term). For painting the inside of your armour. Don't use a clear-coat type of paint. You can't really see the chips and scratches. Ok well you can see them but that's after it rusts. Black is a good idea. Just like spandex Late period armour just isn't meant to be worn with a beer belly. Basically the problem is that any solid plate upper body defense needs to end just below the ribs. Which puts the belly right in the way. The only thing I can think of that would work well is a brigandine. Not like y...
