Re: Anybody want stainless sabatons?
$210 in satin finish or $265 in polished same as on my site. And They'll be finished today or tomorrow with no money till they're done.
No extra charge for them being the famous sabatons in the pics in the instruction set
and I'll throw in a copy of the instruction set when it's finished.

I'm making a set today for an instruction set. If you're quick and post it before they go together you can specify the heel to toe length.

Well it seems bidding has stopped. At way too low a price. So I'll just put a price on it. I can let this go for $700 plus shipping if anyone's interested.

What everyone else said. This is always gonna happen. With everything. Stick one end of something twisted between two immobile objects and twist. If you're not strong enough you can use vice grips and get some extra leverage too.

Re: Can T6 6061 be annealed and re-hardened?
I was gonna mention about tensile strength. It has zero relevance for armour unless you're talking about rivets. 6061 t-6 really really doesn't like sharp angles. If you try to do any shape that has a sharp angle in it it's going to snap unless you heat it up. When I worked in a custom aluminum fabr...

Re: Can T6 6061 be annealed and re-hardened?
You can hot work it at a pretty low temperature. A barbeque or oven will do the trick. Hot working temp is around 500-600 celcius. It's going to loose some of it's heat treat in the process but not all of it. You could have it heat treated but you might have a very hard time finding a place that doe...

Re: Black and white breastplate auction.
Burgonet gorget and shoulders added would be fine. Just to be clear though this auction and pricetag is just the breastplate. I'm happy to complete the suit for the winning bidder but each piece would have a pricetag.
Bidding is still really low but I'm enjoying watching how it's playing out.

Black and white breastplate auction.
Ok so this is a prototype for a spring stainless suit I'm making. Since it was a learning project I'm not really sure how many actual working hours are in it. So I'm going to run it as an auction with a reserve. Don't know exactly what the reserve is but the auction will end when someone posts a bid...

I got lazy and didn't feel like heating the gussets to get the flare on the roll at the curve but will be doing it on the real one. I want to know the cost of this. I'm not sure because I did a lot of learning and research and made new tools while making it so not sure how much actual working time is in it. The 3/4 spring stainless suit this is a prototype for is $7k though. Haven't decided if I'm going to do the back plate or n...

Cet has used it. Talked to him about it when I was at his place a while back. He said it works better with a little heat and also for some reason it also works better if you've got it sitting on a ferrous ball stake or something.
