I use metal form metal hammer for a lot of stuff. Remember though knitbee it's not for beginners though since you can royally screw what you're working on by accidentally hitting in the wrong spot. Elcheapo hammers. So they're not hard. Not hitting too hard either. I find a hammer handle much easier to hang onto then a vertical punch handle.
