And, yes, I've made rattan swords for new guys and gone 'Damn! that turned out so well I want one just like it!'

I bet it's a pretty common malady among craftsmen who enjoy their work

I'm contemplating teaching a class at pennsic on shaping a klapvisor cold. I have to figure a more portable stake receptacle and something non air powered for putting the flute in the middle before it gets turned into a crease. They're probably about 3 hours to shape without air tools so would work...
