In the last couple of treads on this, we've had people come in and state that they're quite successful from their knees. That alone should indicate that it's not really a penalty. Oh, it's a penalty. All other things being relatively equal, the loss of mobility and the restriction of your body mech...

First shot had the King of the Middle - Corwyn (sp?). Yup. Corwyn Dragonstar, to whom I was squired. Sadly, I was unable to follow him to Pennsic that year due to the birth of my 2nd daughter. Beside him is (now Sir) Brandr Halfdanr, also his squire then. The name of the female marshal escapes at t...

A shield is another tool. Choose the size & type appropriate to the task at hand. Big ones are useful for tactical units in battle. Moderate ones excellent for developing basic skills and small ones challenge you to use footwork and movement.

3" is only required on fiberglass shafted spears. Rattan only needs 2", and then only if it's longer than 7.5'. As of last fall, for rattan weapons 7.5' and less, the minimum is the diameter of the rattan and 1.5" deep.

Oh, and I need to order more Premium, regular and 1 1/4" shaved. I plumb sold out. I'll post when it's in.
