Re: Munitions Grade Arms New Webstore
Ender pretty well covered the points I would add regarding the rattan. You might put a short blurb about how the premium is straightened already alleviating the need for a steamer to straighten your own. And a description on exactly what it is you shave on your shaved rattan. Those of us who have b...

Re: Munitions Grade Arms New Webstore
Cool! Looks pretty straight forward. Little bit of questions. What makes the "Premium Rattan" premium. Maybe explain why its better than the regular? Also the "shaved rattan" I was assuming that would be no skin but some of the descriptions say skin on. Lastly do you offer any planing? say a 2 inch...

Munitions Grade Arms New Webstore & 10% off Sale
Can be found here I mostly just have the rattan up so far and I think I've got the shipping calculations set rationally. I will be adding pictures and other items along. But, I need for folks, other than me, to poke at it and give me feedback. I've not announced the site elsewhere yet. You guys are ...

Re: I'm out of freaking rattan!
Shipping to Bavaria will cost more than the rattan. But if you give me specs, I do my best to find a stick that meets them. Dense I can do. Length? diameter? Quantity?

I don't wear anything under my mail other than a tunic (and a kidney belt); other than the weight (about 20l...

And... I'm back from a successful, albeit weirdly paced, Pennsic. Thanks to all my customers for strong sales despite a serious drop in attendance. I'll publish a Fall schedule as soon as it's finalized (or close to it). It will be at least a week or so before I have the rattan unburied and racked f...

Fitness is good. Pell work is okay, as long as you focus on correct technique. There is no substitute for fighting for getting better at fighting, imo. Congrats on the impending fatherhood. I understand about the time commitment there (2 grown daughters here). Go to practice anyway. Then give you wi...

Re: Acceptable Risk and Safety
There's a long-standing process of doing such things with prior approval. Sometimes it leads to something new included within the SCA (Fencing, Cut-n-Thrust, Equestrian - to name a few), sometimes not. I don't see the ACL style fighting being done within the SCA umbrella, but I think there will be a...

1) Glad to hear you're getting better. Please continue to do so.
2) Make armor that you enjoy making. Or take a break, then decide what makes you happy.
3) Hospital stays are a legitimate reason for not communicating.
4) Refer to point 1.

Rapier fencing violated our rules but demonstrations were still permitted.Diglach Mac Cein wrote:Why should the SCA allow an activity that violates our rules?
My impression is the BotN/ACL is not wanting to be part of the SCA, just to show folks what it is they do.

Fortunately there are now other 2" options for fiberglass spears. I've got nothing but respect for...

I do, unfortunately. And a blood pressure headache at that whole Charlie-Foxtrot would be counterproductive to that, and add nothing here. That horse is appropriately dead, overly flogged, and best left as an example of how not to do things.

Spear splices will be $7 for the 1' sections. I will NOT have the cool thrusting tips from Anvilhead, I'm sad to say. Several unexpected expenses destroyed that capital. They do have my thanks for working with me, though. If you want rattan shipped before Pennsic, please let me know by Tuesday 7/9. ...
