FedEx Ground appears to be $75 for 4 or 5 6' poles. Probably a little less for 3.

2 inch thick? That is into the Thug Stick size and are not the ones on sale. That being said, those are $25 each. If you're still interested in them, I'll check on shipping. They'd have to go FedEx or UPS. That's bigger than USPS will take.

Just to update folks, my wife went in for (planned) surgery on Monday. She's home now & recovering appropriately, but the weekend wound up being overbooked with family stuff, prep for her surgery and hacking back the invading mulberry trees with a chainsaw. Then today at work, software critical to m...

What would shipping be on a sword length to California (95959)? For one it's $9, for 3 it's $16. Shipping to CA is costly (coming from IN). $8 & $12 for Parcel Yeah what Didrake said. How much would it cost to send like 5 or 6 to 94122? For 6, $28 Priority, $17 Parcel. Parcel takes about a week.

Re: noob question: what materials for one of them sca sticks

Now, that said, I'm not against checking out alternatives. I just don't think we need to rush on it. I also don't think any substitute is going to give us the safety, low cost AND ability to customize that rattan does. We might get two of the three, but not all three. Not at this point.

Re: noob question: what materials for one of them sca sticks

The Manau species we use comes primarily from Malaysia & Indonesia, not the Philippines. And while there have been concerns of over harvesting, labor costs and the drop in demand for rattan & wicker furniture seem to be balancing it out currently. I've had several talks with my importer on this, dem...

Re: noob question: what materials for one of them sca sticks

so what will happen when we run out rattan(rather it will be to hard to effectivly get)? This is highly unlikely for the foreseeable future. Rattan is an invasive, aggressive weed. The only limiting factor is how much Malaysia & Indonesia choose to export. I can still order a ton from my importer w...

hehehe....

Had a squire get a nipple ring some years ago. I found out when a very tippy shot across his chest took him to his knees.

If Thomas (foxknife) doesn't pick up on it, I'll take a look. I still have the jig from my own proof of concept work for the flat sided sword blanks, I might can crank out a test piece this week.
